Najac
The fascinating arcaded village place leads down through winding streets to the famous chateau which sits on a hilltop in fairytale fashion. Bars, restaurants and numerous activities in summer, peace,quiet and spectacular views out of season.

Cordes sur Ciel
Seen from the approach roads this, one of the most beautiful hilltop villages, seems to float in the sky (sur ciel). Its steep cobbled streets hide a wealth of small shops selling local produce, arts and crafts and the medieval walled village at the top is full of bars and restaurants ready to serve an appetising meal or refreshing drink.
A lively Saturday market takes place at the foot of the hill.

Albi
A beautiful, old but dynamic city with something for all the family.
For historians, the magnificent cathedral of Ste. Cecile, the Toulouse Lautrec museum housed in the old bishops palace and the intriguing old buildings.
For shopaholics, the lovely old pedestrian only roads crammed with luxurious boutiques and the markets selling everything from eggs to antiques.
For everyone boat trips, concerts, exhibitions, museums, a motor racing circuit and restaurants and bars aplenty.

Gaillac
Best known for its vineyards, where you can spend a few happy hours tasting the various vintages and choosing some to take home. The town itself is also very attractive and makes a pleasant lunch or dinner venue.

Villefranche de Rouergue
A good sized local bastide town with a lively market every Thursday. Surrounded by beautiful countryside, with numerous historic buildings and points of interest, it is an ideal day out.

St. Antonin Noble Val
Set in one of the more spectacular reaches of the Aveyron gorge this unspoilt medieval village was the setting for the film "Charlotte Gray". Eagles can sometimes be seen soaring above the surrounding cliffs and the area is an artists paradise.
The village is home to the local cinema where the latest films are often to be seen in 'Version Originale', and an English bookshop allows topping up of holiday reading matter.
